Because every Ontarian needs to know this

.... sadly too few will.

"A Madoc man who attacked a four-week-old girl, crushing eight of the infant's ribs and breaking an arm and a leg was sentenced to 18 months in community custody earlier this week.

That's thug-hugger justice for ya .... Beat a baby senseless and you don't even get provincial jail time.

Should be national news but is found only in the Belleville media .... brought to you via Halls of Macadamia.

That is a sad sentence, the should have gone with attempted murder, at least then there would have been jail time at a Federal Pen.

You mean club fed ??

I was thinking he should get "punishment that fits the crime" ... maybe lock him up with an Outlaw or somethin'.

Maybe we could put the Hells Angels to some useful work... solve two problems at the same time.

just stunning. So the well-being of a 4 week old baby is worth 18 months house arrest. What a joke - for everyone except that little girl and the people who love her.

Sad but not surprising story. Where is the mother in all this? If it were my child there would be no need to find a suitable punishment for him!

If there is any consolation in this ... the guys is marked for good now. Every time an employer googles his name, his dirty little secret will be revealed.

It is too bad the mother didn't go public ... this could be the "poster case" for what is wrong with our justice system. There is something seriously wrong when a baby beater gets a similar sentence to a shop-lifter or impaired driver.

That poor child suffered greatly.

It is not surprising that this story did not receive broader media attention because unless you have four legs or your name is Paris Hilton, the media doesn't seem to care. It is sad how the media works. Is a little baby not worth the same?
